Each newborn photography pose has certain elements and challenges which are unique to that particular pose. The Newborn Back Pose is my favourite pose to start with as it is such a pure and natural state for a baby to be posed in. They are perfectly supported on the bean bag, and you are able to easily transition from the back pose into the side pose. Although a beautiful, simple pose, there are still a number of aspects that need consideration, to ensure you are capturing your best images for your client. Here are my top tips for achieving your best Back Pose at your next newborn session.
Angles Shooting into the light, zoom in and tilt your camera so that the baby’s head is nice and high in the frame, and the closest body part to your lens.
DIRECTION OF LIGHT
When looking for the direction of the light, look for where the shadows fall.
SAFETY Using a standard zoom lens, such as a 24-70mm, will allow you to zoom out for a wider angle, to avoid having to stand on anything above the baby.
It is the perfect pose to start with and allows you to create simple, yet beautiful newborn images on the posing bag at each session. Buy it here
